I don't get it, a car that will cost you £15-17k plus when sorted. Why would a written off lhd now converted to rhd and a home repair be worth anymore than that? Or is the intention to not disclose the repairs? Can't see why anyone would want that at £17-20k when sorted....
Sorry but the fact this has the potential to show no damage history when repaired poses a risk to any potential future owner. |

with a galv chassis, b pillars and bulkhead. And put together with tlc and upgrades it'll be better than the current job LR can do. As for lhd to rhd thats easy and a defender. all bolt on stuff.
as 90% of the body will be new it'll be a new car. what damage will there be to declare? all the damaged parts are scrap! Personally 11K is strong money for a full re shell. Theres a rear tub, b pillars and a tdci bulkhead complete for £2.5K on the bay. doors are £250 each, you got the internal door parts so easy enough to do. |

No chassis damage, all ok, engine and box and axles all ok.interior all ok apart from part of the dash where the bulkhead got damaged.
just needs the panels replacing and its all good should have it home in 2 weeks then ill start stripping and scrapping the damaged bits that I can't repair. No idea what happened to it but looks like it fell over onto the side onto something. You can pay more for new defenders worse than this on Copart salvage auctions here in the UK. going to start by replacing tub and bulkhead, doors and roof, put 88 sides on, hammer the worst of the dents out of the wings and bonnet. then slowly get it back to A1 better than new condition. or ill off road it haha. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

Kool project if you are looking to build a keeper but I personally think £11k is extremely strong money for that vehicle. £7-8k would be more realistic IMO. Good luck with it though. Are Land Rover aware of the damage - will you have any sort of warranty?

...that's all right then Years ago I had a friend who bought a Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV that fell on its side from a car transporter whilst being delivered to a UK dealer. His father had a garage specialising in Italian Cars so had space and access to tools and knowledge. He drove to Italy and bought a complete body shell from Alfa bringing it back on a trailer...1 year later it was finished, basic principle was to use only either new parts or undamaged originals from the strip down...it is possible but in the process you will learn what it takes to build a Defender, from a rolling chassis... Good Luck Welshsurferdude you have quite a project there... SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

Looks like a good project and something I wouldn't mind having a go at myself! Can I ask where you found it?

I think it looks like an outstanding project! I think you'll have a lot of fun doing it (it will certainly be novel rebuilding a nice clean vehicle where things come apart easily), and you will end up with a virtually new vehicle built completely to your spec and standards. The ideal start for a "keeper".
Who cares is the resulting vehicle is worth less/more than the cost. Simple financial calculations don't factor in the satisfaction you get from doing it, or the savings in the long run from having a Defender that has been assembled properly and with the attention to detail which only the owner cna invest. Do please run an rebuild thread when you do it. |

WSD, assuming you will be returning it to original spec/finish, I would strongly suggest you keep it LHD and sell it in Europe. Generally far more expensive here (especially France) than the UK.
Here's the cheapest similar spec I can currently find in the EU (not including Spain or Italy which are cheaper and should be ignored): http://www.autoscout24.com/Details.aspx?id...mp;asrc=fa Easier selling in the EU than changing from LHD to RHD, non? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
