Got a flat the other day so got it checked for free at kwik fit turned out to be leaking from rim.
As the alloy corrodes it causes slight leak cheap to fix and saves getting new tyre |

Personally I stopped going to Kwik-Fit many years ago.
The outlets I dealt with seemed to have a policy that if you went in with say a flat tyre, they would offer a free vehicle inspection and 10 minutes later - have you noticed your other tyres are worn? ..... and the shock absorbers are tired? .... and your brakes are needing replaced? .... and that exhaust might benefit from replacement? ......... and if your head really does button up the back ...... we have a 'managers special discount today' .... Two weeks ago I bought tyres at my local independent dealer ...... he had a new employee who was ex-Kwik-Fit and his opinions on his former employer and their current business model were not very positive. |

Dont get me started......!
I was told by Kwik Fit that fitting an inner tube to "tube type tyres" was illegal and I could be prosecuted.....! They dont want to repair tyres only sell new ones. |

I had to rescue a previous car from one of their de-pots when my now ex-wife took it to them for an MoT. They had it up on the ramp and started spouting at her that it was completely unroadworthy, tyres were shot, the brakes were non-existant, the exhaust was falling off....... the list went on and on. She had phoned me in tears as she had our two small boys with her and was having a bad time with them.
They had only put it on the ramp and not even laid a spanner on it to have come to that diagnosis, when I got there they wouldn't let her leave untill she agreed to the work needless to say that they didn't stand in my way when I politely told them that I was taking it off their premises. I took it straight round to my usual garage and half hour later had a new MoT on it after changing a brakelight bulb. the tyres were less than 6 months old, I'd put new pads all round the week before, the exhaust was never changed and lasted another 3 years and 50K miles. I did talk to Trading Standards afterwards but because I had walzed in and taken it away without getting it inspected there and then there wasn't a lot that they could do apart from logging it on their system to join with the other hundreds of complaints they had there allready. |

I used kwik fit for a while for MOT's as somebody told me the don't know anything about cars let alone land rovers and can not count. So several years I got my MOT while having an td5 is a 1984 90 with has on paper a 4 cyl diesel engine,
Now my 90 is 90% td5 only some body parts are from different ages. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

My old Disco2 developed "porous" rims. I ran it (pumped-up every few weeks) until the old tyres were on their way out, and then had the wheels blasted, re-painted new tyres, balanced etc...like new
If one has gone porous, then the rest may not be far behind... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I have never used Kwik Fit myself (the name is enough to put me off) but deceided that I never would under any circumstances when a bloke I used to work with took his (slightly unusual) Ford Escort in for a new exhaust.
KF then proceeded to cut the old exhaust off, then found that (a) they didn't have a replacement, (b) they couldn't get a replacement for at lesat two weeks, and (c) the old one was by now in the skip and not refittable. Cue one very unhappy customer! |

Not exactly a glowing testimonial for how to attract and retain customers?
