I wonder if this facility has ever been made to fit a standard Defender chassis?

I must admit I keep looking at these body jacks especially as I have a couple of double acting hydraulic rams with integral 24v motors making them self contained and have as much ram length as those seem to have.
Or it might be for a 'slide out' for camping, or.............

it was running bucket seats, harness locations were set up for that.

The shoulder straps are still well off, even for bucket seats - it's the angle they make to the floor fixing. Would be better if they were either wrap arounds on the horizontal element of the roll cage or if you want to keep the snap hooks then have them attach to the hoop legs.

none of the diagram apply as the shoulder straps go over a cage tube behind the seat , so in a impact the force of the person in the seat going forward the persons shoulders wont be pulled downwards

I agree if the belts just went over the back of the seat to the floor than that's no good

like it shows they do in the picture from the rear, then to the floor mountings, same as the Bowler 50 trucks in the MSA comps.... Cheers

Doesnt matter what there fixed to its the angle of the pull that matters

being they cant pull downwards on the shoulders because they go over the cage tube thats all that matters

and does the spare wheel not get in the way of a straight line between the horizontal bar and the floor mounting for the harness?

I know what you mean
personally i would have the belt points up level with seat/arch box and spaced same as top as it goes over the seat

Not sure which Bowler trucks you are referring to but the Bowler Defender Challenge vehicles did not have floor mountings

my mistake i thought they did, i had assumed this hardtop was the same as his 50 challenge one.

You obviously have an issue with Bowler, will leave you to it. Cheers

I'm actually a fan of Bowler but not someone selling a vehicle with a harness setup that is now not appropriate - I missed the horizontal bar until Munch pointed it out, so that's a major plus point but the wrong seats and revised spare wheel storage can't be placed on Bowler can they?

Out of interest do you have any involvement with the place selling this vehicle?

From what I gather they are planning on fitting a rear roll bar style assembly on the rear with some roof lights. They are very excited about it and have had a lot of interest. Can't wait for it to be registered so I can take it for a spin Razz

It still there parked outside...there must be a deal on this for a pre-reg (March is coming).

one's £19,995 + VAT vs £43,000 + VAT (already reduced from original sticker price by £8,395 which is 13.99%).

Only one is a Bowler but they both appear similar from the outside.
