Could be an airlock

I had a fiddle with the connections of the temp sensor and gauge now works, it remains steady and heater still keeps blowing warm air.
I just can't relax with the water in the header tank remaining so cold. Thanks for your reply, I'll investigate for airlock. Thanks |

Coolant in the expansion tank normally is cool mate. Wouldn't worry too much

There are two small hoses that join into one at a round Y piece going to the expansion tank. These can become totally blocked, give them a good flush through. I have known three cars that this happened on. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

^^^^ agree with checking the small (self breeding/return ) pipes , can cause air lock problems
also might be worth checking its got the right thermostat fitted some thermostats have a extra spring loaded washer on the bottom if that's missing it can cause odd things to happen |

Thanks for your replies, the garage is an established Land Rover specialist therefore I'd hope the thermostat is correct

Had it back now, "p" gasket changed and everything seeems fine now! (Touches wood)
