They want the kind of money it is worth if it is original spec, sadly it is not and it wouldn't be easy to return it to original spec either. As far as I am concerned once you change a 50th then they are just another 1998 Defender with a nice spec but not worth the premium of a limited edition.

I would love a 50th but I want an unmolested one.

I agree you would want a unmolested one for that price. I do love them particularly the colour Very Happy

What's been molested? Looks a really tidy example with no added bling. LPG is a bonus to most and if not, then it can easily be removed.

The lpg system can be removed, but you still have the filler that has been cut into the bodywork that neds removing and repairing.

Also looks like it has electric windows fitted, again they can be removed but the switches are int eh centre console so will have holes left or need repairing.

For some people the Defender will be seen as being improved as it has these mods, but for me it is no longer original and therefore defeats the point of it commanding a premium price. But that is just my view.

Looks great to me, I assume Alex's 1976 50th is still 100% original, and that's great, however, other Defender owners like to add their own touched here and there

I agree with you.
"CLASSICS" have to be ORIGINAL, & pristine, if they are to obtain a premium price.
