I am afraid this is very true. My Son declared a ford sticker (lower door stripe) on his 'ford' fiesta and was charged £40!!

On what basis?

I would not have paid that, it is just extortion!

Demand your money back or change insurers - A-Plan have already said they wouldn't charge, so there is no case for anyone else to do so... Evil or Very Mad

Most of my insurers wouldn't mind if vehicles have stickers and decals on them..........
It means anybody insured with A-Plan is perfectly fine with a Defender2.net sticker Thumbs Up

Interesting and bold statement, does that include Markerstudy? Rolling with laughter

Based on their appalling feedback would you care to comment or have a little wager perhaps?

The best thing for us all to do is ride around without insurance in a clapped out shed, because our local scroats only get £100 fine for no licence or insurance and they are allowed to pay it off at 50p a week. Rolling Eyes

So at 24 with fully comp insurance earning NCD for the last 5 years he is charged even more for a sticker, no wonder so many young people take a chance. I agree a complete rip off. It seems insurers are looking for any excuse to get out of paying out. Moan over.

Our van is insured with the NFU and we were asked if it was sign written.

I enquires as to what difference it made and was told insurers liked vans to be sign written as they were less likely to be stolen and also more likely to be driven courtesly as the driver could easily be reported

Shows how Insurance companies are all on different frequencies then as have been asked the same question myself and likewise asked the difference. My Insurance would have been higher sign written as they said it was more likely to be broken into if they knew the sort of contents Laughing

So, what if your vehicle was owned by say the environment agency, and they had it covered in stickers and you have removed them, but the sticker shadows of glossy paint still remain? Does that count?

Or how about when the environment agency put hazard stickers on your paint, and they are so sun baked on they are now part of the paint and cannot be removed short of a respray? Does that count?

Whats the difference between a sticker on the inside of the rear door that says Harwoods Tonbridge, or one that says Defender2.net?

Also, in my engine bay on the slam panel it quite clearly states that my swivel was filled with genuine parts land rover grease (in about 1993) does that count?

Needs more clarity me thinks as to what is defined as a "sticker" Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

And what if you have writing ("Land-Rover") on your rear-mounted spare wheel cover? Or an "alarm fitted" sticker on the side window?

Ridiculous !

What if the sticker says "No tools left in this vehicle overnight" - does it negate the discount you get for taking your tools out every night? Laughing
