Do you really need a 2" lift?
The KM2's fill the arches nicely with standard suspension and I have never been on any lanes that made me want a lift 59 2.4 110 XS Utility 55 TD5 110 CSW Special Vehicle |

My own 90 is the silver one running KM2's and black Boosts. It is standard ride height as it's garaged and only just fits as it is!! It's the only pic I can post from my phone.

Mine are 265/75/16 although 285's are probably a more popular upgrade. All I needed to do was adjust tge steering stops slightly. I wouldn't say they are any noisier than the G Grabbers that were standard in thr Boost allies. I'm pleased with them.

so can i fit 285 on standard boost alloys? will they then look stupid too big without lifting it cheers

Yes you can and many do but manufactures recomend not less than a 7.5inch wheel. There are a few here who have run 285's on boosts (7inch) and have never had a problem. I run mine on 8.5 inch wheels but that was personal choise. I do not run a lift at the moment but am thinking about a 1inch if I do. Boy |

Hi Having had a two inch lift on my 110 for the last six years i decided just to go for a one inch lift on the 90 i purchased in May. The springs were fine so did not see the sense in paying more money than i needed to so went for a set of Gwyn Lewis 1'' spring spacers. www.gwynlewis4x4.co.uk . The shocks are Terrafirma +2 with Gwyn Lewis front and rear dislocation cones to keep the springs in place - rear anti roll bar removed. The picture per the link is not the best so will look for another. From experience it is not just the expense of replacing springs and shocks - to get the best drive from the 110 i also replaced the radius and trailing arms, bushes, longer brake lines and bump stops. I did not get round to replacing the props instead replaced the uj's when they became knackered. At present with the laning that i do i have had no issues with the set up of the 90 without having to spent to much money - good in these times The tyres are 265 and suit this lift - i had 285/55 BFG muds on the 110 and would catch the rear wheel arches at maximum upward travel. From an earlier reply do you need a 2 inch lift. One of the other issues i had with the 110 was that at 6 foot 9 (2 inch springs and 1 inch from the tyres) i kept hitting the roof on low branches whilst lanning and many car parks round here have 6 foot 7 height barriers (not to mention SWMBO with short legs trying to get in and out of the car). Suspension is a great subject and everyone will have different and valid views. If you have loads of money go for it - i did with the 110. With the 90 i have gone back to basics within reason as i think that we forget when looking at the magazines how good the original set up is. Good luck Mark [/img] |
