BB went to work in the Smart this morning (she works at High Green on Thursdays} she hadn't been gone many minutes when the sky turned Black and we had a heavy down fall she managed to get into the surgery ok and back home but she was fuming about other idiots who had dumped their cars in awkward places. Me thinks that she will be taking the 90 in the morning as she is back at High Green in the morning that will be me grounded then.

And here I am 'living the dream' in the Alps and unable to ski because I had to work....
However, up to 2m is rumoured over the next few days and I am free. Battled up the mountain today running the gauntlet of crazy articulated drivers, local teens whizzing around in Peugeot 106s as if it is summer, and tourists with full snow tyre/chain set ups crawling at 15kmh, on cleared Tarmac. Muppets And today wasn't too bad, only 15cms overnight. It'll be worse tomorrow and roundabouts will look like a Japanese drift circuit. On an interesting note, some of you may remember I enquired about snow tyres and was recommended the Nokian HP something-or-other. Due to a pre-Christmas spent in Spain and the UK, then an awful 4 weeks plus of little or no snow, I never got round to buying them and have relied on my Cooper ST Maxx. FYI, they have performed admirably. Deep snow, slushy snow, compacted snow, all of the above. Not dealt with ice yet, but seem to be doing the job. Interestingly, been doing some tyre kicking every time I see a parked Defender and almost non have snow specific tyres. But we do generally have very efficient snow clearance and rarely suffer the way the UK does. Anyone else using standard tyres? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Ran a Disco on ST s a few years back very good in the snow and organisers of the Crosiers recommended them for snow current D4 is on MTR s at the mo not ideal for snow but with all it's electronics it copes my 130 is on Nokian Rotiva AT s which are great for UK snow conditions and if it gets bad the snow chains can come out

Mick, I am NOT going to be driving local roads at 5.30 am just to give you a road report.
I will be tucked up safely and warm in bed On Old Guy Road the snowdrifts were forming on the pavement up to 2-3 feet deep on pavement and starting to spread over the road. Wind is from the west so is picking up the powder snow and dumping it on the other side of the wall. Brendan |

Well you know the fields are slight moist and the water tends to run off the fields and down the road in Bradshaw. Would expect ice on the bends there
Temperature at the moment is -1C here. Bradshaw is a 'bus route' so should be gritted etc. However not seen gritter on Roper Lane yet. Should be off to WVA tomorrow and then down to the unit so you might, repeat might get a road report Brendan |

No snow overnight Mick.
Roper lane has traffic on it but at reduced speed due to patches of compacted snow/ice. I.e. Some drivers are being sensible for once. So all minor roads should be passable in this area with care, just watch out for patches of ice on untreated surfaces in Bradshaw Brendan |

Fwiw, standard fit Conti's Cross Contacts performed well and even with brisk acceleration didn't spin up easily if at all. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |
