Any know whether BFG ATs or GG AT2s are quieter, noisier or about the same on road when compared to TRs? BM52

Done nearly 11,000 miles on my KM2, 90% on tarmac, going from 235 to 285 gave the vehicle a better planted on the road feel and they have been faultless off road but to be honest I have not done any serious mud plugging with them. There was a noticable difference in the MPG drop, the noise I can live with and as I generally only do about 50-60mph. I have never heard anything negative about the KM2.

I am considering changing my wheel tyre combo, so if you are intrested in saving a few 's Russ PM me and I can send you some details. Thumbs Up

I am quite a harsh driver! Interestingly Fekete (Driving Miss Daisy Laughing ) is a light-footed driver and has covered approximately the same mileage on his Coopers as I have. He is visiting this weekend and it will be interesting to compare tread depths. Between imbibing in copious amounts of ale of course! On a rough calculation I have covered about 7K miles and reckon them to have about the same again in them!

AT2's best all round, use them on all my 4x4's, BFG will last longer but the AT2's is my choice.

no matter what tire, if you are on ice/snow and moving at any rate of speed, it is like trying to stop an elephant on ice...hit a nice little car like that last year...no stopping what so ever... 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)

ha - too true.

must say that i was very impressed with the BFGs in the snow. My wife abandoned her car and 'stole' the FL, she now calls it her winter car! i felt better with her in the FL her car is only 2wd on summer tyres - deadly in the snow.

i suppose i just want to be sure that i am using the best tyres. like brakes and suspension i only want to use the best and won't compromise on safety.

AJS - do you supply tyres? or is that another AJS? BM52

Done 14k on my KM2's without issue apart from balancing. They do not slip at all except when covered in diesel. That is scary Big Cry

On the BFG AT my Navara had a set on which where still legal after 100,000 miles

Personally I would plump for the KM2's but there is no need to change your current setup other than choice Thumbs Up 59 2.4 110 XS Utility

I can hardly tell any difference in road noise between my BFG AT's and my old GG TR's. I was a bit worried about extra noise but needn't have been.

Road manners of the BFG AT's are very good as well Thumbs Up

First offroad trip on the AT's in two weeks - looking forward to seeing how they perform.

thanks for that, good to know.

i am used to BFG ATs on my previous 90 300tdi. very pleased with them. they were also excellent off road. the tyres never let me down ......... just the driver Rolling Eyes BM52

The difference between A/T's and M/T'S is you just have to walk a wee bit further to get help with the M/T's and you go further into where you shouldn't have went anyway? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
