Apart from probably needing a longer pipe, does anyone know if this is a fit for the Puma?
I'm led to believe that the inlet is 10mm. Just wondering if the engine side QR connector is the right size? I know that if you fill and fit, then usually a Filter change is ok, but at that price, silly not to if it works. http://www.drapertools.com/product/43986/E...ing%20Pump Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

As far as I know the 2 common sizes of QR lines are 13(ish)mm and 10(ish)mm. Pretty sure the Puma is the 10 ish. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Seems as the Puma is 9.89mm.
In the end I decided for the Laser 5704 which is a 2 in one kit including equivalent to the Ford 310-110 (which is what the Puma uses) and the FL2 one which is 310-163 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-5704-Diesel-...B00FZJKSB2 Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

I have one and had to use during the Xmas break. seemed to fit Ok and I squeezed a few times and nothing so I used a plastic lid
with a hole cut in and pushed a bit of air via fuel tank opening and fluid appeared straight away about six aie bubbles and 100ml diesel and it fired up |

Assume you are referring to the Draper one? If so, that is good news. Craig Rogers

Hi Sasha, just to be clear, are you saying you didn't use the primer pump but just put an air line onto the fuel tank?
Thanks. 2.2 90 XS 88" Series One Old Norton Minerva |

Sorry I was on holiday, I brought my here from memory as they are hard to get in New Zealand
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Draper-43986-Ex...27f30603fb I connected it up to the fuel rail on the Puma engine using the male end, pumped a few times and got lazy and at the same time my clever wife used a CD pushed over the fuel filler hole and pushed the air compressor hose into the hole in the CD , it leaked air a bit so used a flexible plastic lid off a vegetable container which seals up easy with a hole cut in it the size of the air nozzle, sealed like a dream fuel pumped out with 5-10 seconds through the Draper, a few bubbles and it was fixed, I was just being lazy and I had read of this technique on AULRO site. I am sure the pump would work ok as well, I extended the hose as the other end is too short to drain the fuel into a container http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defen...ost2113791 http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defen...ool-5.html Last edited by sasha2001 on 24th Jan 2015 10:00am. Not done that on a Defender, but done that on a few things round the farm (and other people have been doing it for years before I was around) and it works well We usually just put a rag round the filler to seal it.
It's really handy having tractors with on board air, just park the tractor next to whatever needs bleeding and away you go. |

As mentioned, in the end I got the Laser which is the same as the Ford 310-110A.
Made the job very easy. Didn't even fill the filter before fitting. Although found it was taking ages to pull the diesel through but after disconnecting the pump side of the tool for the first few pumps all was good. Chaps - just wondered...
The LASER pump is ~£100 the DRAPER pump is ~£20... Anyone used the DRAPER one??? https://www.drapertools.com/product/43986/...ing%20Pump I'm about to swap my filter for the 1st time. Also about to go on a long road trip into mainland Europe, so may take the pump with me "just in case"... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I've got the draper one (it might be a sealey but it's identical)
I fitted to the end of the line from the tank, but it's a loose fit, so i wrapped some ptfe tape around the male end of the primer to get it to seal and just primed it into a bottle. That's enough to get it running. Personally i'm tempted to buy some fuel lines from Land Rover and fit the primer in there permanently. It removes the chance of dirt ingress every time you disconnect it. |

That's right, but the draper one is a loose fit in the connector. I was going to buy that fuel line, and the short bit that goes to the pump for the connectors, then permanently plumb in a primer bulb like a lot of Diesels have as standard anyway (Peugeot XUD, Ford/PSA 1.4tdci etc)
