Show us what you've got fitted. Are you talking crossmember OR NAS bumper? Bumper was naturally an add on and can be removed treated and refitted if not too bad, crossmember is a different kettle of fish!
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

The original NAS step is a bolt on addition to the rear cross member and was made for America for Land Rover and had a 2" receiver incorporated into it. This design was not available to the UK market The design available for the UK market was for a standard towball to be fitted to the step. The price for a genuine NAS step is £347.50 + VAT = £417 (plus delivery if needed) The non genuine ones price can vary a lot and I have seen them for the thick end of £500 Now that is considering the NAS step, now stick a tow ball on to them and it becomes towing equipment and then you enter the minefield of towing equipment legislation, which then depends on age of vehicle, taxation class of the vehicle etc etc IIRC towing equipment is now part of the MOT Next thing to consider is swing away wheel carriers if fitted/intended to be fitted. The single pivot wheel carriers from Safari Equip and Nakatanenga are designed to fit with the genuine NAS step. Some of the aftermarket NAS step are different shape use different mounting holes etc so may/maynot work with wheel carriers. Now if you are talking about rear crossmember then that is a different kettle of fish Brendan |
