I think the basic profile of the Mud seat rails is 40mm square.

Have a look here

Hot reply too soon..

So - higher at the back. I'd got it wrong ... I don't want to go further back but I would like a little more height and I was thinking tilting the seat a little may improve support under my legal and in the small of my back.

Hi Anderzander

Yes you sit higher overall and the seat base is a bit more level, the main function is to give you more legroom if you're a bit tall and chunky like me Embarassed
You can fit additional washers under the standard seats to adjust is slightly or Exmoor do an adjustable seat rail with tilt adjustment which may suit better

You could put washers/spacers under one end of these

Stephen, with mud rails fitted you can comfortably see the corners of both wings. Very handy in tight Lakeland lanes 😉
I wouldn't be without mine now.

The MUD seat rails seems to 'flatten out' the seat position if that makes sense? Although they only raise it by 30mm it feels like more than that.

Personally I think that they give you a better, more comfortable, driving position than standard. The only downside is that if you're tall then you can find yourself looking through the sun visor.
