Here's another one. Does anyone have any recommendations for a steel bull bar? Here in Australia LR doesn't offer one for the Puma, although I'm sure an older version would be fine. The only two after market versions I can see are ARB's 'Winch Bar' and one made by Opposite Lock - that seems to be it. Does anyone know of any other options?

I'm with the NFU (Chippenham Office) and have a BRB bar (very similar to the ARB type bar) and they cover that no problem.
(well, they did after i explained what the heck it was, and what/why there is a winch on there too), although they had a slight bit more knowledge than some of the other insurers who havn't a bleedin' clue! ) |

Dolium (based in Perth) import a couple of Defender bullbars from South Africa (probably made by FrontRunner). You can see what they are like here: http://www.dolium.com.au/view/page/120/cat...ries.html. Should be able to get them from OppositeLock, who, as you are already aware Rick, also make their own bullbars.

Not to sure but I have it in my head that it's illegal to supply a new vehicle with a steel bull bar, hence the abs a bars and wrap around bars. Installing an aftermarket one is a different story. Well that's how I think it works (that's "think" not does).
But surely an insurance company wouldn't insure an illegal mod!! |

Two reasons
1) trolleys in supermarkets. 2) general pedestrian clearing, I don't know why but people always seem to think it's a good idea to walk out in front of me at the last minute (wouldn't want the paintwork to be damaged)! |
