I did in the end mate. It actually went via Gumtree. £1100.

It was worth the initial price and ideally said £1150 minimum to myself but it's not the best time of year to be selling camping kit. "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)

Yeah, it happened in the generic roof tent market maybe it will... perhaps the crank design is patented or something.. they've been around for decades... not copied yet. Might move onto a Myway roof tent to go with the Voyager trailer. More suited... have an Oztent RV3 for now. Another decent bit of kit. "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)

Devon 44 sell a French variant of the maggiolina, I've not looked at one first hand but they look good

I have a maggiolina Air top worked well in the Arctic circle and in the Salisbury plains

They are a long term investment - they come up for sale from time to time, and are a great bit of kit

Tbh Keith, they are an awesome bit of kit, but an opening roof tent is just the same... have a few advantages with additional space too. They come up all the time for good money. They are the smartest and most convenient roof tent on the market in my opinion but there's some good stuff out there i.e. Howling moon, Hannibal etc.. Came across this and thought that's a lot of space and kit for the money...

Yep they have a lot of space. But nowhere near as waterproof, flap in the wind, and take far more time to get out put away compared to a Maggi.

Looks a nice piece of kit, but I need something that would deploy in a few min in any kind of weather, and strike just as quickly, I've looked at those kind before but thought why spend a thousand pound on a tent to put on your vehicle rather than a 100 pound for a tent to put by your vehicle, failing that just fold the front passenger seat forward and crash in the back. I'll wait for a Maggi to turn up hopefully for the right price. Thumbs Up 2005 TD5 90 CSW XS
