Are we to assume he's been clever enough to crack a .tun file ?

Or will it be ripped off from someone who puts their product as a .map file ? Perhaps it's not from a well known tuner at all !

Id suspect its been ripped off from a car that was done either with a different tool originally or a car that was done before the nanocom could read out.

There is a Nanocom one now at ebay still cheap.

I was following it but he doesn't want to ship outside the UK and I found a newer version already. Roel

On the basis he used to list them as 'Twisted' ... I would assume it's whoever does the Twisted maps ... assuming that's where it's ripped from.

There's plenty of open source software about and map files floating about for the TD5's. I looked into this for many many weeks and basically had enough software to write a complete ECU and the hardware, if bought from China, can be very cheap to (and reasonably reliable ... able to tune many other ECU's to).

I still however went to the pros (BAS in my case) as at least then, if something goes wrong, you can poke someone on the shoulder and get assistance!

Plus it's supporting them, to keep them going. If they weren't around, the maps wouldn't be around to get ripped!

I used to download software in my youth without thinking about it, but nowadays, you just realise what sort of hit it can have.
