I see why your doing that now then, see mine is not under warranty anymore.

On the original subject if the OP asked for the cleaning cycle to be retained then it should still sound on shut down it will just mean the EGR is rendered inactive during use.

It must be completely disabled instead. Confused

Blanking the EGR off along with a remap / EGR disable is a good idea.
About 9 years ago fiat started to use the puma 2.2 diesel in the ducato 250, it found it`s way into motorhomes. It`s a bit under powered for bigger vehicles. As it`s output is 100 HP.
I`ve had a few 2.2`s that have been remaped and or the egr switched off.
Some of these have been blanked and some had not.

However over time the unblanked valve managed to open it`s self slightly. This gave rise to a few running problems.
So my self I would have the valve blanked off, just in case. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.

Of course turning off the map would result in the egr reverting back into life! I am sure I've got the early signs of dementia!!!

Thanks Tigup Thumbs Up

Still i am am pretty sure Pete told me it would still go through the self clean cycle?

The clean cycle as mentioned only works when the map is standard. I personally feel their is no point in having a clean cycle when the map is on or in tuned form.

The main reason for this is if it was allowed to clean when the map is on and you have a faulty or dead valve it would not clean at all anyway so sort of a waisted effort really in even trying since we actually only want it closed.

We have it so when we switch the egr off with the map its off for good while the map is on.
