Have you had the radio out? Could be a cable jamming the controls 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

I've had this. The lever doesn't appear to move very far anyway, but had in this case pushed the end of the cable off of the operating lever. Middle part of the dash had to come out and the heater control, from there it was a bit fiddly to re attach. Now I don't force it and it's been fine. I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

We haven't had the radio out but has in the past had a sat nav system fitted. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic

Mines been very difficult to move from new - did wonder if it was a feature or an issue...

Either jammed by a cable or bent.
