More good news...but interesting that only the vehicle fitted with a tracker was recovered:

"The stolen Mercedes had been fitted with a tracker device and it was found parked in Bradford near to the home address of Innes.

Mr Jowett said the other three stolen vehicles had not been recovered."

I would like to know why the the law does not have a way of giving them longer sentences if they do not provide details of where the other vehicles went?

Proof 10000% that they actually took it. It might seem blindingly obvious that they did take the others, but its no good without proof.

Would have loved to have seen their faces in the dock when the sentence was read out. They probably thought they would get the usual community service order.

Personally I would also once they are out of prison make them pay the value of the stolen cars to their owners even if it took all of their worthless lifetimes to do so

They have been found guilty of taking them though so that's been proved.

There must have been more to it then, or some paperwork slip up; if they were found "guilty" then they'd have been charged with the other thefts.

Maybe it was a plea bargain thing?

What makes you think that they weren't?

From the article: "The trio all admitted offence of burglary and stealing motor vehicles".

Classic excuses:

"Stephen Couch, representing Innes, said his client had a poor start in life and drifted into the wrong company after the death of his grandfather.

Fletcher's barrister, Andrew Dallas, said gambling lay at the root of his client's offending and he was in debt to people who did not like to be kept waiting for their money."

I don't know, why don't you try ringing the courts and find out then? Rolling Eyes

Bunch of oxygen thieves either way... funnily enough my grandad died some years back, I never drifted into a life of taking what others have worked hard for crime.

Shame the "people who don't like waiting for payment" didn't come an kneecap him.
