On the way into work this morning I have managed to break the fresh air/recirculation selector on the heater controls. I pushed it over to recirculate and there is now no resistance when selecting between the two and the heater is stuck on recirculate.
I havent had the dash apart before so Im not sure how it operates but I assume it operates some kind of cable which could have popped off? Any pointers? Tom @tditomprice 100” Defender Hybrid 2010 Alaska White 90 HT |

Had this happen to me on the 90.
Turned out the dash end of the cable had become kinked as the other end had become stiff due to lack of use. Managed to get it straightened out without changing the cable Rosco 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Mine did this, it bent and slipped off the hook. So being the man I am I stripped the dash out found the fault and forced a toothed washer on top and squirt wd40 down the sheath but one or two uses later it popped off again. So I lifted the bonnet and moved the lever to fresh air and haven't thought about repairing it since. Its been broken for over a year now lol simply not a feature I utilize despite the low cost and ease of the repair I'm not bothered about it lol

So managed to get it in but pops off every time recirculating is selecting which suggests cable not moving freely….. think it will be engine selected winter straight through air and summer recirculated for wife’s hay fever … if I remember
