Just noticed one of my old company cars has come up for sale.... bit of a rare beast.
One of the things i always liked about it was the poke and with 603bhp from a breathed upon W12 and for the weight it did pick up its skirts and go. In the advert it mentions the excellent service record, i can vouch for that. We used to fly in engineers from Germany every 6 months. The car i had, had done 7,000 miles in 7 years. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...es/3157717 Ever spotted your old company drive on the sales lists? Wow that's much nicer than the 2002 Astra TD estate in envoy (came with nothing) spec! It was tired when I changed it in 2006. According to the DVLA vehicle check it was on the road until August last year which amazes me! 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

One nice thing about them is that it brings a whole new meaning to just 'blowing the doors off'. There were explosive bolts fitted that were operated from switches on the transmission tunnel allowing you to remove the doors without opening them. Fairly standard red trigger guard with fuse wire to stop people flicking them accidentally. One for each side.
Best part of it was the 5 day driving course beasting $750kUSD cars around a disused fighter airfield in the old East Germany. Then on the final day being given an R8 V10 to have fun in. The Rules:- 1 Buccaneer comes back alive. 2 Chicks dig scars. GB260 |
