hehe, they are propped up by 2x200N Gabriel struts on each side. I reckon if I leave them open and floor it on a light downhill, I can get airborne ![]() |

Now that the gullwing doors are in, I am thinking of creating some packing space just below the roof - lots of wasted space there.
Basically the idea entails 2 shelves the width of the seats, running from just behind each seat to the rear frame. These would be situated above the top of the rear window frames - see pic, red lines indicate what I have in mind. The shelves themselves would be made of mesh-type material, and the space between the two shelves could be used to dry wet clothes & towels by hanging bungee cords. Has anyone done something similar, and if so, can you provide pics/details? Suggestions/ideas/tips would be most welcome, thanks! ![]() |

Does anyone know of any alternatives to the Frontrunner Gullwing Door?
Preferably a little cheaper..... |

as i have a 110 hardtop i was also interested in the concept of the 'gullwing doors'
i found some alternatives in holland, Jansen Laro Parts, and they informed me the following: *the alloy version is 285€ a piece (about 250£) *the heavy duty steel version is 1085€ (about 950£) a set, available on special order only the alloy version is in stock, and since i live only 20miles or so from their base, i'll go and have a look sometime next week. the price looks interesting for the alloy version, i'll keep you informed after my visit to this shop and maybe ordering/fitting them. their website is www.landroverspecialist.nl, in their 'vehicles for sale' section is an orange/yellow defender 110 fitted with their version of the gullwing doors. grtz erik |

Thanks Erik, looking forward to your findings, is the price for the alloy versions for a pair or single? |

Any word on how the version you've found have worked out? I'm coming through Holland in June on the Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally so I might make a detour to buy a set! |
