What an excellent thread and some superb horses. It was being around horses that introduced me to Land Rovers and for me the two are always connected. Never been to Suffolk or seen a Suffolk Punch in the flesh but the start of this thread really caught my eye - very impressed!

I know what you mean, if I trim their feet then I tip them on their back like a sheep.

I have 7 proper sized horses that will need feet/shoes doing if you want to pm your number Mick.

I don't own them, but yes they are expensive, our running costs are +75K for the 3 we had a fourth but he got to 27 and kept falling over Big Cry had him for 18 years.

We have 15 acres, make our own hay on some of it.
Lots of harness! 2 drays, trailer and horse lorry (tried a normal horse box but it kept listing to one side Rolling with laughter )

£180 every 6 weeks to shoe them, each!

They do pay for them selves though, been on TV many times, radio, newspapers, magazines, their even on a stamp.

And love a pint or two, or three ..... (not me in the pic Laughing ) Rolling with laughter

They are magnificent animals you got there,
I go to "the ploughing" in Ireland ( now europes biggest agri show) and there are dozens of pairs working, I have never seen as many, amazing !

I have promised myself I will eventually buy one to ride myself.....fingers crossed Thumbs Up 2003 Td5 90
