Is 6 years sufficient for causing death by dangerous driving?
See HERE OK not charged for drink driving but it does sound like he was over the limit at the relevant time. Brendan |

Shocking but until the authorities realise a speed camera is not a replacement for a traffic car, this will continue

10 years ago you used to see everyone on their mobiles when driving. When the ban came in the number you saw doing it reduced significantly, but I think it is becoming more common again. I se lots of people on the phone whilst driving now, and it's not just white van man, everyone is at it. Irritates the sh*t out of me.
I have just fitted a new bluetooth stereo in the Defender. The daily driver has always had one. I am however very aware that whilst looking for phone numbers on the hands free device I am very vulnerable (or at least everyone else is) as I am when putting addresses into the sat nav. On a long trip I will usually eat a sandwich on the go, which I am also aware can reduce concentration levels, especially when the Coronation Chicken drops in your lap. I do slow down when doing such things, but i don't stop. Should I, probably. I know I'm not perfect. I just hope I am aware enough not to do any serious damage on those occasions when I am probably pushing my luck a bit. |

In the morning i take my dog down to Richmond Park each morning for his walk.
On the drive down i start in Notting Hill and go through Kensington, Barnes and into Richmond. If get the wrong time and catch the back end of the school run i see countless mothers in their Range Rovers/Discos et al all with their phones glued to their ear. Thing is much like a drunk driver when observing their driving from behind, it is so erratic that its obvious they are either intoxicated or using their phone. Number of times i have almost been hit half way across a Zebra crossing by someone on their phone. Of course the new technique is to have it on speaker and holding it in front of you... doesn't help it really doesn't. The Rules:- 1 Buccaneer comes back alive. 2 Chicks dig scars. GB260 |
