[For Sale] 90 tdi pick up soft top stunner....!
Hi, with regret and following a 'review' of life, money , time blah blah I am having to put up for sale a car the likes of which I have never invested so much blood, sweat, tears, money and time!!..
Started out as an 87 vintage 90, tdi put in properly, very straight, mint bulkhead and 2 patches of rust on crossmember and one outrigger.. Then I went to town..
New crossmember and outrigger, waxoyl end chassis, all new suspension(gen), all new brake pipes in copper, new brakes as necessary, new fuel tank( wax oiled too), rebuilt rear disc axle, timing belt/ full service, gear selector springs replaced,
Then a full re spray in the lovely BRG metallic, with new series door bottoms, locks etc, military tops with twin sliders( expensive but lovely) tailgate converted to swing out, all new nuts bolts mostly in stainless, new Wipac crystals and all new other lights, rubbers, seals etc etc etc
Soft top hood is excellent with just a touch of patina, ally chequer plate rear lid is lockable and pretty dry( trying to sort a neat way of waterproofing the piano hinge) rebuilt heated seats with centre too, momo wheel, might get a heated screen on as I have the loom, custom steel grill, spots, new bumper, flaps etc etc etc..
Drives lovely, straight through MOT in Sept, chap wondered why he bothered, as new underneath!!
It's in having a hard top colour coded at mo, along with a touch up on bonnet where my garage door came down on it, proper specsavers ad moment Big Cry Laughing
Will be back with me on tues/weds available for viewings/ more pics..
It drives lovely and turns heads, especially with the roof/ door tops off in summer!

I need £8500 for it, if you are looking at these please look at others first at 5-6 k then see where the money has been spent here, I have loads of receipts( hidden!) and the chap who rebuilt it has done me a comprehensive list of all the work and little mods done for the next owner, I have a ramp available for a proper viewing too.

Reply on here or call 07711693734, we are 8 miles west of salisbury, I can deliver on the flat bed

Cheers Big Cry Big Cry

Alex

Thank you!.. I'm not sure where to advertise, been a bit slack really...! It's quite a specialist sell, probably go with Autotrader..

Cheers. Alex

Hi Alex, I would use eBay and LRO as a start-state before moving on to Devon 4x4 and Autotrader if the initial attempts weren't successful.

Your truck is a highly desirable bit of kit but advertising on a Landy forum where everyone wants things for nothing is often counter productive IMO.

We all know that eBay attracts its fair share of undesirables but at least it gains large scale publicity for little money.

All the best,

A - Andrew -

It was 90 PU's that first triggered my interest in Landys, the look and the agile ability off road.

EBay is good for publicity proving that you don't let it go for less than you want , I.e, make sure there is a reserve and any fees are including of the price you want.

Gumtree I've used before and that was very good.

Thanks for that, pretty much ties in with my thinking, ebay does get its undesirables wanting something for nothing etc but undeniably gets it seen by a lot of people, and I only need one!!.. Autotrader has been good for me in the past, not sure what its like now? Gumtree hasn't been great, don't seem to get a lot of call for it round here for some reason?

Pms returned, I will be getting her back tues/ weds so as soon as I can get some interior, engine bay and drivetrain shots I'll post them on here..
Hard top and soft top/ ancillaries are all included in the sale, just sorted a matching spare tyre too.
Cheers. Alex
