Yep I get what your saying, I guess everyone is different. My approach is simple really if I like something and i think it will fit in with the look of my car or enhance the drive etc then im happy to put it on. I think id have to paint the LR one to make it look right so the Bowler seems a simpler option for me.
Although after seeing the Bowler Defenders on here in recent days i am quite interested in the full car  just need to find one that i can have a look at and maybe a drive i dont think any NW dealers have them  . |

I totally agree that you should put on your Defender what ever you fancy and not what anyone else suggests. It's a personal thing
I too might get a Bowler if the last edition isn't up to much. I'm really looking forward to having a good look at Simon's Bowler 90 on Saturday. |

I think the greatest thing about the defender is they can modified to fit such a variety of tastes.
I really need to see one I think that is on my list of things to do in the next few days.

It was just my view point.
Not really a strong one or anything, just my perspective after really wanting to buy there products to thinking probably too much what others might think to drawing too much attention to my car that would be deemed a fake. I am certainly a fan of Bowler in general and would love to own one of their vehicles. I maybe one day lucky enough to own such. I wish Bowler every success but,When I order the bumper and sills and guard I hope the rest of it is attached.

Am I not correct in thinking that the Mantec guard is the one originally sold by LR and now they use the same bracket but with a different blade????
I had been looking on & off for a guard for years and finally settled on the Mantec one as it sits further back (doesn't fit flush with the front of the bumper like many) and also the bracket is far stronger than most I had looked at. Might be worth looking at. ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

Finally made a decision to go with the Bower steering guard in black, I made the decision based on the fact that I think it will suit the style of the car and they seem to provide well designed high quality products, ordered it around 2 and had it by 1.30 the next day. First impressions are good, very fast delivery and a high quality product. Particularly like the red tow points. Just need some free time and dry weather to get it fitted. Thanks for all of the advice guys, I will post a picture when fitted

I'm buying a Bowler steering guard from a forum member. As it's secondhand, it may not come with any fitting instructions.
Sweepc - does the new one come with instructions? Any help/tips you have after fitting yours would be appreciated. Anyone else have experience of this job? Thanks |

Fitted my genuine one today bought from FlatDog and I'm pleased though it is quite understated when photo'd from ground level and even more when you are lying on the ground, buy hey I'm pleased with it!
