You could use it just specifically for that, that'd work but I see your logic. It'd do more damage actually because it'd cause more of a closed knit group without the helpful and friendly side of this site to new users. It seems to me to be a little stagnant here lately but I put that down to the time of year and the fact I don't think many are doing that much really. Who could this time of year in the dark and sometimes wet.

There is a fairly active Landy community on FB and I am guessing many of those will not be aware of the most excellent resource that is available here on D2 dot net... So having a presence there could be a way of alerting those that would benefit from joining the real D2 and help spread the word further and wider...
