Had them, hated them, got rid of them in favour of BFG Muds.
The Kumhos look good, but I found they weren't up to much in proper mud. Sorry, I can't find much positive to say about them. Dirty Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap |

Cheers, its a toss up between BFG MUDS or KUMHOS
I think the Kumhos are a better looking tyre? What are they like on tarmac? Thanks Ian 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

I had a set of KL71 on a 90, I thought they were great, got a set of Cooper STT now on a 110 and like them too. They can dig in on soft surfaces, but no tyre is ever going to be perfect in every terrain. 90 300 TDI SW (sold)

I ran 285/75 Kuhmos for about 30k miles before changing to KM2s in the same size. Both are good tyres and do well on and off road, but the BFGs seem to me to give more grip under all conditions.
The other main considerations were that the Kuhmos seem to wear about twice as fast as the BFGs - at the 30k mark they had the degree of wear I'd expect on BFGs at 60k, and also that being unidirectional you don't have the same scope to rotate them round the vehicle to even up edge wear and crenellation patterns. I think the BFGs are marginally quieter as well. I've never regretted changing and wouldn't go back. |

Are you planning any on-road use?
If not, then the Insa Turbo Special Track will get you as far as any other for less £££ 1970 Series 2A 88" |

BFG MT KM2 then.
Although they are pretty crap in mud... For proper mud you really want something like a Special Track. |

I had kuhmos , they werent bad on or off road but they are a soft compound so do wear very quickly on tarmac.
Everyone raves about BFG, They are good and I have had several sets of km2, the tread eventually steps off and they get noisey on the road.... wait for all the abuse to come at me from BFG lovers Tyre technology has come so far that there are a lot of good MT tyres out there. I like cooper stt as I find them value for money , quiet and excellent on and off road, I have run sizes from 235/85 16 up to 37 12.50 r17 and all have performed equally as good. At the moment I am running Michelin xzl and they ARE good but I suppose they look too skinny on anything other than steel wheels. I went to my local farm tyre supplier yesterday at a tractor dealership,
They have all sorts in stock, so i went to have a look. Kumhos look good, but they did say they dont do to well on mileage (as said above) They highly rated Cooper Discoverys! they have just become stockist for these and were great value, The trouble is im running 18"s on my 90 and you seem to be limited, so im now thinking of changing rims to 16"s as there are so many more options tyre wise. Thanks for all the answers Ian 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

I like cooper stt as I find them value for money , quiet and excellent on and off road,/quote] i remember when these first came out a few had them on at our DRDs, they were great off road in a straight line but didnt like directional changes much. Customer had them on his Bowler 90 today at another DRD, exactly the same, they clogged up more than BFGs (but i think that was a function of 18" vs 16s and less sidewall to flex out the mud) but key thing noticed by many was not alot of good for directional changes, clawing out of ruts.
