Puma 2.4 re-map
Just had my 2011 2.4 Puma remapped with Mastaz
Shane knows his stuff the mans a genius he deleted the EGR and removed the speed limiter.
The result is quite simply remarkable and the price £200.
Don't hesitate you won't recognise your Defender amazing and only took 30 mins at his Stockport garage.

OK, so on the Puma you get a replacement ECU and AS10 and it's plug and play, no need to do anything except sort out key fobs.

So what about VCV and injector calibration?

Sounds hooky to me.

Try eBay for defender remap.
This is not a plug in it's a remap and it is amazing.
This is my fifth defender all from new started with a TD5 which was a Twisted upgrade amazing.
We know that the TD5 is suitable for upgrade and Puma isn't, so when I discovered this company I thought I would try it and the result is beyond my expectation.
I am Defender guy and I've covered over 250,000 miles in Defenders take my word this is genuine.

I must admit I am getting confused here.

So a Puma is not suitable for an upgrade?

For Sale 2008 (0Cool Stornaway Grey County 90 Hard Top. 2.4 Twisted Performance upgraded from new includes Re-Map, intercooler, S/S Exhaust, De-Limited.

Now I might be mistaken but the 2.4 Puma was introduced in 07?

Now look at Mastaz claim for the 2.4 Puma

Quote:

ECU is fully remapable for future map changes

approximately 40% more power and torque

Now compare that to BAS

Quote:

The Land Rover Defender 2.4TDCI with its remap boasts very good performance offering an increase of 40bhp and 90Nm. This now takes the 2.4 litre puma model from the standard configuration of 122bhp and 360Nm to around 160-165bhp and 430-440Nm.

Now that is about 35% increase in power and a 25% increase in torque.

Hmmm now who's figures should I believe? Or should we tell Pete to pull his finger out?? Razz

Now the likes of Pete/Gary/Ian can remap the 2.2 but Mastaz does not offer this service. I wonder why?

Personally as a newbie here, I certainly would be looking to the likes of Alive or BAS to do any remap on our car based upon the pages of advice from long standing members.

Would I buy a remap off Ebay on the basis of a recommendation from someone really new to the forum, well the answer to that is no.

If my understanding of the figures are correct is`ent the main gearbox now running close to it`s max torque loading.

As I`am still saving for my remap ( the overtime fund is doing well ). I would be intrested to know how he gets his improvement in power, and what testing / dyno graphs does he have to prove the claims. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.

How does that equate to an extra 90Nm?

Who's running the most torque out of the 2.4 puma?

I'm running c450Nm with just an upgraded intercooler so I presume there mout be some out there running far more. Also who would spend more for more torque - how much would you spend for reliable and smooth additional power and why?

I've just had a remap carried out by Mastaz on my 2008 Puma.. I picked Shane because he was local to me, and after a lengthy phone call discussing what I wanted and what he could do, I felt really comfortable. The transformation is nothing short of amazing..
Driving around town is much more comfortable, less gear changes and loads more low down torque. On the motorway, in 6th gear, cruising at 75mph, no need to change down to overtake, just go... The engine noise has reduced (??) and fuel economy improved - home to Stockport, return used to be about 1/4 tank - Friday, I did the same trip, and then went to Eccles yesterday (another 30miles) and only used less than a 1/4 tank..

I don't really concern myself with BHP or torque numbers for cars, the grief of getting a 4x4 on a dyno seems a little too much, I'd rather just go on how the vehicle feels, drives ect and in the case it was well worth the money and an hour of my time.. Shane has done a brilliant job..
