if your thinking that the extra 2" on the rim makes a difference , dont forget your be normally running lower profile tyre
example 235/85/16 (standard size on defender ) diameter 806mm 265/65/18 ( about standard size to fit to defender ) diameter 802mm 285/65/18 diameter 828mm so the 18 is smaller by 4mm when changing tyre sizes you are are ment to keep within 2.5% +or- of oringnal size so 235/65/18 to 265/65/18 is 0.5% and 235/85/16 to 285/65/18 is 2.73% so really to keep within right range and not effecting gearing/speedo would be the 265/65 to be honest you wouldnt notice the small amount of change Last edited by munch90 on 20th Dec 2014 9:17am. Apologies if you've answered this already but what is the TÜV status for these wheels? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
