Has anyone put these into their Defender.

They don't come with covers, so I'm trying to work out if they will fit behind the existing speaker covers?

The OE speaker covers are bonded to the speakers. May be they can be separated if you are VERY careful, but it would be irritating if the first one goes well and you trash the second one. I wouldn't bother myself I think.

So if we buy some new speakers I assume we can buy covers if they don't come with any?????

Surely they need a cover to stop the cone getting damaged?

You'd be better of getting speakers with grilles out of the box, far more simple and easier.
