adjusting steering wheel
Hi everyone,

i have a TD4 / 48 splines steering wheel and when driving straight the steering wheel is slightly turned to the left, if i change the steering wheel position of one spline to the right, it goes slightly to the right when driving straight Big Cry

Do you guys have a solution on how to fix this? an adjustment on the rod? or anywhere else?

Thanks

Tim

My 2 week old Defender is the same, straight from the production line! I think Land Rover may need to invest in new alignment equipment. Laughing

You need to adjust the drag link from the steering box, this will alter the angle of the steering wheel in relation to the wheel position without altering any tracking settings. It won't need more than about half a turn I'd have thought.
Start by centring the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, there is space for a dowel pin to locate the drop arm if you want to be really precise.Thumbs Up I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

Mine's just the same.

(Should we move this to the 'Grumpy old men' thread?)

Mine was delivered new exactly the same. See my earlier post, it's an easy fix on the drag link adjustment.

It was indeed an easy fix, just needed a little brute force and WD-40 and the bar was free.. done the adjustment with about half a turn, well done Rickydodah.

Thank you guys... it's much better now.
