Anyone got this problem? when I was driving last night suddenly I've lost my Low Beam Headlight at the same time. I suspected my fuse, since it went out at the same time. only to find out that the 2 fuses weren't busted. I tried to play with the headlight stalk when I slightly pull the stalk I can activate my LOW BEAM it turned off if I released it. What do you think guys? another LUCAS darkness?

I suposse that both light were out at the same time no?
Did you check the command and the relay? Happens to me that the command to turn the lights were broken (no low beams) and the second time was the relay but im not sure if the relay works for both (low and high beams) Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Happened to me with a 200 tdi travelling home in the dark. Do not know if the Puma is different but there is no relay on the 200 tdi for the headlights so that is why the switch goes. I suspect the Puma is the same. If you carry a spare (and a flash light ) they are easily changed. To get lights (when no spare is carried) just remove the light switch by unplugging it from the connector. Pull or cut the wires from the connector left in the vehicle. If you touch two of the wires together you will get low lights, enough to get you home. When you have this just twist them together and it will hold while you get to your destination. Just as easy to bang in a spare one-if one has one. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Confirming...
In fact, according to the manual, there is a relay for the headlamps, but as I can see is only one for both lights (low and high)... So probably your problem is located in the switch as happened to me for the first time. In fact I overpass the switch to get ligths until the spare arrives Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

As mentioned the switch failure is not uncommon. Mike

If you have access to a voltmeter a two minute check will confirm if the supply is present. If you need wiring diagrams 'pm' me with your e-mail and i'll send 'em on!

thank you guys for the quick replies! the bulbs are still good and not busted. my problem is the stalk for the high and low beam they are maybe over-traveled. when I SLIGHTLY PULLED THE STALK I have low beams but, if I release it it goes blackout.
ill have it check to the dealers tommorow. |

The latest is, my dealer told me that they located the wires and relays and it's all in good working condition! thats good news to me.
But, the switch for my high and low beams they gonna order it from the factory and its gonna take at least 3 weeks |

Toto,
I had the same problem and the solution is quite easy. We overpass the switch with a wire. (we use this solution for just one night before reach the dealer) but should not be quite difficult to add a common switch to the wire to on/off the light as desired. Only precaution to be to remember to switch off the ligths when you stop the motor. So thats a vote for unipart to take back parts distribution for Land Rover and get rid of Cat.
The catalogue from unipart is better The supply around the global is more efficient and the world wide part distribution is faster! 3 weeks its being sent by ship not air as VOR parts are sent... Mike |
