i can't find any info on the alpine website?
any videos/features/specs? Looks very interesting! Happy with my Parrot Asteroid Smart though, would take something special to make me change - but this is the closest I've seen i think! Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I have been looking at the CarPlay setups since they've started trickling into the marketplace, watched this video a few days ago, here's a different link

Yeah there's definitely something there. But a bit off I think.
Firstly your iPhone becomes unusable when plugged in at the moment Secondly most of the HUs which incorporate CarPlay don't have the basic functionality that I require. Eg. Navigation that doesn't require Internet, Bluetooth handsfree when not using CarPlay, etc etc Ideally I'd like to be able to install CarPlay on my (android) Parrot asteroid smart Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

The reliance on mobile data is the only thing that puts me off at the moment, there are some parts of Lanarkshire that have yet to receive a phone signal never mind 3or4G!!
I was also looking at the Pioneer AVIC-F60 which seems to have the best of both worlds http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/111/.../page.html does the same job as the Parrot but at a lot more expense  2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

The good thing is you don't actually have to buy a nav module, it uses the Googlemaps from your iPhone and replicates a number of apps including messages , email , iTunes and also works with spotify if you use that .. Also reads out your texts and emails digitally and has voice control for reply ... If you are an apple and digital music user ... It's simply awesome !!! Takes a direct attach camera which is £140+vat. Can also quite fitting if you want. Note , It must have the latest IOS so you need at least an IPhone 5s or above |

I think the carplay will only let you use apple map, not google map. And what happen if you're not connected to iphone, radio only? |
