MY wife just calls me "the miserable old sod" - I shall insist she calls me HER miserable old sod in future to avoid confusion with any of you other miserable old sods out there who belong to someone else
p.s. no offence Pam - I totally agree Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I changed a whole interior to brand new XS spec on my truck cab without her noticing she got in and asked if I'd cleaned it |

Last night I informed my wife that I have spent £340.00 on a new Momo steering wheel, a snap off adaptor and a slim line boss, she responded with ‘it’s your money’ and then added that we need a new rug in the living room and that she had seen a ‘nice’ one in town at only £299.00 sometimes honesty cost more than you think.

It`s nice to see a female point of view on here.
I don`t know about anyone else but I quite like to have her, give the tell tail raised eyebrow and tilted look when I get all excited about the next shinny thing a think I need / want. I do sometimes need reeling in !! A good woman / man is hard to find . Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires. |

I can only assume that your wives make a financial contribution to the household income.
Mine doesn’t, so I spend as much as I want on whatever I like. I don’t question how much she spends on her hair, her clothes, the La Perla, the shoes (and I know for a fact she’s got over eighty pairs, she has a special wardrobe for ‘em), the shopping… And if she wants something special - at the moment it’s a Stovax Highline wood-burning stove installed in the conservatory - she lets me know, I'm the one who gets it sorted. But the day she ever questioned what I’ve bought for myself and how much it cost, would be the day she’d find herself with nothing. Peter Edited to add: Just read Gilarion’s post. Yeah, I can relate to that - but for my wife it would be yet another pair of shoes or boots! |

We have a very straightforward unwritten agreement here. I've got a thing for gadgets...so when the latest one turns up, as sure as night follows day, a pair of shoes or a handbag turns up two days later. Seems to work for us!

Seeing as I started this, maybe I should contribute,
We have quite a good, but strict policy in our house. If either of us wants a new toy, then an older and relatively unloved toy must go to make space for it And similarly help contribute towards it. I'm not mental with my spending, but working in a main dealer, getting good discount, and techs to fit things when I buy them on a Saturday afternoon when I don't have an area out of sight at the house certainly helps My Mrs is being quite supportive in my quest for bits to update my 90's interior. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that I'm bothered about tweaking & making a bit personal & mine , Plus the eBay alerts to her mobile are a dead give-away!! G |

Even though she is from Yorkshire, the quick answer is no, as luckily, Mrs F is as Landy mad as I am, in fact, the decision to look at a Defender was hers, which was a welcome surprise. She's a real petrolhead, and i love her for it. I never question her shopping habits, and apart from beer, she rarely questions mine - which seems to work ok.
The first thing that came into my head when I read the question (for fans of The Unit TV series) was Jonas Blaine's response to the question 'are you scared' was 'I fear no man, but one woman'!! |

In short No.
SWMBO has a new VW Tiguan so she can't really moan at me for all my toys. she can drive any of them at any time she likes. She does on the odd occasion ask me whats new this week then and i take her out and show her. i get the usual thats nice and she wanders back in to the house to do some more ironing. She is a great lady and i wouldn't be without her. Or my cars I don't go out to the pub every night and i don't smoke so what else can i spend my hard earned on. MY DEFENDER |

So, in answer to the OP's original question, you're absolutely petrified of her! |

Barrowboy,
Nah, just petrified whenever I look at the bank statement to see how much she’s spent. We’re both impulse buyers, she can’t go past a shoe or clothes shop without buying something; I don’t buy often but buy big - went to the Motor Show to buy a Hummer but ordered a Morgan, went to the Boat Show and this is the result: http://www.boatshowrooms.com/news/brand-ne...-28-sedac/ Peter |

Ah yes, I remember going past their stand at the Boat Show... Joking aside, nice boat and I hope it was the three-wheeled Morgan? |
