Gatescarth Pass
Yeah, got permits for the Gatescarth pass for october next year, can't wait. I was amazed how quick they got back to me, only had to wait a day.

Anyone got any photos to help the wait. Very Happy 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

It was a rather typical Lake District day, but enjoyable all the same. The switchbacks are steep Smile

Driven it a few times, here are some pictures from 2006 before the 100" rule came in. God it was tight and steep in a 109 S2a!

A few years later, but how was it?

We have passes for the 7th (still one free if anyone else wanted to try it).

Any follow up lanes we should try after?

I last rode it in 1993 and my (trail, motor) bike was overgeared so it was very tough, but I've never forgotten the previous time in 1991.

My mate's clutch burned out half way up and having turned round, we had a hairy 30mph ride up the M6 to the Kawasaki dealer in Carlisle for new clutch plates, followed by a rebuild in a B&Bs back yard. The pub only had crisps, I had cider and god was I rough next morning.

Happy days....

Just searched You tube for Gatescarth Path and then spent two hours watching various videos. Wifey says I've just wasted two hours of my life. (Stupid woman, will she never understand?)
