its SNOWING YIPPEE
I'm sat in my Landy at Langsett snd woo woo its snowing. I was reading a report sent by email from the Matlock Mercury that it's supposed to start snowing in Buxton at 6pm on Sunday and be quite heavy at times.
Bring it on baby!

Love the snow Very Happy

Wow! That is some forecasting by Matlock Mercury about Buxton will get snow dead on 6pm Sunday Laughing

My wife is from Buxton funnily enough my wife lived on ‘Green Lane’ and several times in the winter when visiting my mother and father in law we could not get home as Buxton would be cut off because of the snow.

Snow is fine in the right place which is on top of the hills and for walking in.

Unfortunately on the road is not the best place for snow as there are too many numpties around. Get a decent fall around here and the roads are soon blocked by either abandoned cars or snow drifts. Then the numpties expect you to get them out of trouble because you are in a 4x4. Yes council will plough major roads but just block the minor roads off with the snow they have cleared off the major roads.

Now where is my grumpy old git hat?

Snow should be banned . Simples. It might be pretty but it is a menace to those who have to work in it. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Lambert - Think you deserve to have a rant in the grumpy section on the site. Laughing

On a serious note, I do know what you mean.
Out on the roads I've been in it a couple of times, never again with the idiots out there.
I'm okay with my 90 but when you've got others on the road sliding about the place nearly bashing in to you - No thank-you!

Watch it Steve, more then one grumpy git here.

Last major snow drop around here many minor roads closed to normal cars. A pub closed to here by a multiple road junction, council cleared main road but not the minor roads. Pub did not clear its car park fully. Guess where people parked? Yes all over the minor roads as they were 'closed'

Might have been closed to normal cars by snow but NOT to farmers who needed to get to their fields/animals in their tractors with feed etc.

Yes can understand where Lambert is coming from.
