I also have a Momo wheel fitted (14-inch) but use a different boss that is even slimmer than the slimline one you have.
It is a Mountney boss which is part alloy (the section containing the splines) with a steel section bolted to it onto which the wheels is mounted. I had the steel section cut and re-welded and it puts the wheel within easy fingertip reach of the stalks (this is for my wife who has smaller hands than me). Your Snap-Off adaptor, does it no-longer incorporate a key operated lock (I had one for years and only sold it recently)? ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

A new company took over the brand and could only supply the race fitting when I went looking a couple of years ago.

Just replied to another chap as I have just had a Momo Gotham with the Bolt on Bits slimline boss fitted. I also have Corbeau Boss seats, so given it is a deep-dish wheel, it is cosy. Was thinking just today of cutting the boss in half, an extra 2cms could make it a tad more comfortable. Worth the effort? Hard to do? This is the type of boss I have.
It is the steel frame that is shortened, took a welder only a very short while to cut & re-weld removing almost all of the free-space. As long as there is sufficient room for the top-nut then that is all you need. Just trim the rubber sleeve and you wouldn't know it had been done.  Click image to enlarge ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

I've got a slimline with a snap off quick release too (the older design with the key lock on it).
I keep meaning to get it down to a machine shop so they can shave off material as it's a smidgen to long. However, that boss that Litch posted was exactly the one I was thinking about doing exactly what he had done to it :p ... Nice simple design to shorted and as said, just need to leave clearance for the the thread. The snap off's have a small recess at the back so also take that into account. Just need to get around to sorting it. Just put my 14" back on after having the standard on for a while! Wow I forgot how sensitive it made things and how 'heavier' it made manoeuvring. Tis nice though! Makes it feel more solid! But happy to have the quick release back though! Just need to get used to getting the wheel at the same time as they keys again ... took a long time so there were many trips back inside to get the steering wheel, haha! |

Since reading this very interesting thread I have been considering the options for fitting a Snap-On type connection to my Mamba's Momo...
However, the range is confusing and, what worries me most, is the additional extension this adds to the boss/steering wheel combination, I cannot find the relevant dimensions for the Snap-On bits... 
Also, I assume adding a slimline boss, of the type mentioned above, would seem logical, so will this restore the overall dimensions, including a Snap-On to what they would be with a normal boss without, if that makes any sense at all ...  Rog...

I brought a snap off one years ago from scorpion racing that was keyed , fancy getting another one , but cant find one the same
I made the boss for the one I had so to get it as short as possible the one I had looked roughly the same as the one in the link tekinqauto |

I'm interested in changing the steering wheel in my 2015 XS as I hate the look of the std wheel, how do you get the airbag warning light turned off? It won't be an issue for the mot as it's a brand new car and doesn't need an mot for 3yrs. Also I see a lot of you guys are fitting snap on/off boss's, do you really remove your steering wheels at night? I had a Momo wheel in my old 200tdi and it was a massive improvement on the original wheel.

I had a mate of mine at a machine shop do a bit of work on mine as it stuck out a lot longer than the ones you posted. Its the same as the one litch posted but I did away with the whole section rather than shortening it.
Now its a nice distance for the type of snap off adaptor I use (In my opinion the best type as no wobbles and a separate lock that goes ontop) from
