Speedo move on startup

Hi everyone!

On my 2004 td5, sometimes on startup the speedo moves up to a point, hovers for a moment and then goes down again. Today it hovered on 50. It doesn't always do it. My question is why would it do it? Does it mean anything?

earth problems can effect gauges

As Munch says, it's an earth thing. I have exactly that problem together with some Nanocom issues. It ended when I added a new earth from the ECU earth post (under the passenger in my car) to the battery negative post.
