Hi
I fitted the HD springs to the front of mine. I find it improved the handling, but there again the old springs were tired. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic25618.html |

I used to have a BRB bar (similar to the ARB bar) with an 8274 on my Td5 110.
I fitted HD front springs (110 HD = 130 standard fronts) and although the ride was bang on, i found it was a little front nose-up (think it might be the rear end "down" on mine giving the impression of a high front end) But it's a good cheap mod for a heavy front end. like you, i found that with the weight of the bar and all the rest of it, the front would crash at the slightest pothole. I did try HD fronts on my old 110 that was totally standard, nothing on the front.... waaay high and handling was horrible, understeer everywhere as there was no give in the suspension. |

What springrate do they have? I changed my 90's from 175 lbs/inch (standard front) to 225 lbs/inch (standard rear) that's about right for me I think on the moment with a homemade winchbumper with warn winch. Roel

A 90 HD front is a 90 standard rear.

I think the front springs on a 130 are the same as a 110. I have a spare 130 set kinking about the workshop I will measure them up and take the colour code and let you know.

I had my 2012 defender utility back into LR after fitting a winch bumber and winch & under body protection to my landy.
They fitted the heavy duty ones they use on the 130. Front ones were replaced for new springs & the rear ones had additional springs fitted inside the originals. I can't remember the part number but they were genuine parts and lifted the vehicle slightly & can now carry plenty of kit without worrying. Handles nice and firm too. |

The only difference should have been the addition of the helper springs. Base rear springs are the same for yours and 110 hd/130:
Rear - Both sides RKB101111 Purple/brown Rear helper springs - Both sides RRC 3266 No colour code |
