Here's one photo of the new arrival. I have just spent 3 days covering myself and the drive in Dinitrol! I discovered a cracked headlight ( and both headlamp bezels rusted to nothing ) so decided to replace the pair with Wipac Crystals, hence the missing front lights |

Very nice looking truck... Surely the cracked & rusted headlamps should have been covered by warranty... Enjoy life with your new Defender... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Wow! Bought unseen and getting it delivered hundreds of miles to your door. I sincerely hope it's a good 'un.
Funnily enough, a year ago your local dealer in Skipton attracted me to cross the county with their special event but in the end I just bought a new one. |

Awaiting some feedback from the dealer on the cracked headlight and rusted bezels. In my opinion it shouldn't have passed the pre sales inspection with a crack in the headlight. Not so sure about the rusted bezels as the initial corrosion warranty is only 3 years, with perforation from the inside from 3 to 6. They could argue the bezels had rusted from the outside in!!
Life's too short though so I ordered the crystals and a set of stainless bezels. If the dealer comes back to me, I'll suggest they fund the cost of the parts which will work out far less than them sending me to another dealer to get it sorted. It might get a black roof soon, as there is some paint damage to the gutter rail from a previous roof rack fitting After the Dinitrol treatment over the past few days I have inspected every nook & cranny and I think it is a good 'un. As per the above, it has had a roof rack fitted in the past and there are a few scratches around the paintwork, but it is a Landy after all! It drives really well and everything seems to work as it should (headlight aside). I've had all four wheels off over the past few days which gave me chance to give the alloys and wheel nuts a good cleaning. A bit of corrosion on the edges of the alloys, but nothing too bad. Loads of tread left on the Conti's, but at some point I am tempted to swap the tyres for a set of 235 85 16 Cooper ST Maxx. I might splash out on some sawtooth style alloys, but the extra insurance premium for non standard alloys comes in at £100 a year which seems steep. Just need the headlamps to arrive next week so I can finish the job off and get motoring. |

Hi Clemmo, that's a good point. If I could find a set of original ones at a bargain price and stuck with the standard sized tyres then I guess no issue. But I was looking at the pattern ones that are available and also was considering a different sized tyre. My brother is a loss adjuster and I know what lengths the insurance companies will do to turn down a claim if they can.

Very nice truck! Took a great punt there on that one, enjoy! I'd recommend the 235 85 16 ST Maxx's, they're a great tyre. Pete
