Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Stolen with pedal lock on but my theory probably dragged onto a flatbed as there is always loads of room on the road in front. Just had the panic phone call from asking for instructions on how to drive the smart. She is definitely a defender driver Barbara |

So sorry to hear about this Barbara...
Have you reported it through LandyWatch as well? ... These occurrences are in danger of rapidly turning into an epidemic... And no-one has any idea how to rid the World of the scourge of the thieving scumbags... Rog... The GREEN One... Won't rid the World but would go a hell of a long way to protect your investment and is loose change in comparison to the anger, resentment and potential loss without recovery of your pride and joy. May go some way to nailing the scumbags too..... Without stating the obvious......Decent tracker perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! But don't the informed rats have technology to counter/negate even the latest Tracker devices... Rog...

Nothing is theft proof, but are you perhaps advocating not bothering because they may be tooled up? The average thief isn't intelligent and trackers use more than one means of communicating nowadays which is more difficult to jam. Also loss of power with a decent make will mean the provider is straight on the phone to yourself.
For me the decision after a great deal of research was a 'no brainer.' Also due consideration to other factors.....many people have rushed out to obtain a convenient key conversion that incorporates the 10as fob into one convenient unit. Convenient for whom? The fob is a security device which should be kept seperate from the key preferrably on a different fob to the key itself. Not convenient enough though for some apparently. Simple cheap ineffective measures can go a long long way to protect you hard earned outlay. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Not at all Mal (and no-one with an ounce of common would listen if I were so to do!)...
I am as well tooled as the next Landy owner, but I do despair at the seeming lack of protective device advancement, which ultimately means we are all wondering if we are next, whilst we continue to shell out additional many hundreds of pounds on a myriad of different types of hardware and software, to protect our pride & joy... All that benefit are, quite simply, the manufacturers of such items and the criminal fraternity, as we continue to have restless nights, despite the precautions we may take, wondering if we will still be mobile in the morning... Agree but 'something' is better than nothing and it needn't cost a lot. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

One does wonder about that..
Ever so slightly but possibly relevant... Perhaps we should all consider doing the exact opposite - remove all our devices and protection and save many pounds, at the expense of, possibly, better or more enhanced insurance cover to provide like for like replacements and leave it all to chance... Surely the criminal industry would quickly become saturated with stolen machinery that they would not have a clue what to do with and we would simply replace our motors with equivalent or new?... In any event, it is quite clear the authorities, the industry and insurers are doing nowhere near enough to resolve these issues and have no immediate intention to do so either! How many times do police see a trailer/loader on the road in the wee smalls and do nothing at all about it - perhaps a curfew on all such movements unless fully authorised - any transgressors have their kit impounded and skwished flat! I have no idea what the real answers are, but I ain't about to wrap myself in cotton wool and lock myself in a panic room, yet... Rog... The GREEN One... Now some of you might remember the 'kind person' called Shane Nelson who was arrested, caught in the act of stealing Allen Defender and was sentenced to 6 months community service. Now this kind person lives relatively close to Hazel.
Now according to his facebook page he is a 'Master of criminal law and criminolgy' An odd occupation one might think. Brendan |

It's amazing what you can learn now courtesy of Her Majesty. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
