Evening Chaps

Which is the best snorkel to get for my 90.
I don't want to be able see a lot of it when driving (if thats possible) not ever being in a Defender that has one.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

I have a Safari and really do not 'see' it noticeably when driving... Thumbs Up

It does add to the wind noises at higher speeds though, so my ears 'see' it rather large then... Mr. Green

Thumbs Up +1 for the Mantec plastic jobby , although it's really an RAI rather than a snorkel and would need care with sealing for wading .

+1 for the safari.

The good thing is that you can face the air intake at the top either way depending on conditions. In the Sahara we turned ours around so it faced backwards which had the benefit of considerably reducing the amount of sand and dust that made its way to the air filter. We turned it to face forward again when back in Europe. Also it's a proper snorkel not just a RAI, but don't forget to fit or extend your axle breathers too f you're going to be doing a lot of deep wading. 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey

The reason I opted for a safari snorkel is they look modern are streamlined you can reverse the top as mentioned and the quality is fantastic and they are made to fit. You can also buy a smart aftermarket grill in stainless steel for the air intake at the top, which makes it look even more modern

Other Snorkels look like chimney flues for a wood burning stove or something you have cobbled together from a hillbilly still Wink and have what in my opinion looks like a daft metal mushroom on top. Laughing

Imitation Safari for me! Looks like a safari, largely behaves like a safari but sadly the gaskets supplied to give a neat fit to the wing are a bit crap- so will be using making up some better ones. They do not effect how water tight it is- they just leave a bit of an unsightly gap (about 2mm) to the wing that REALLY annoys me! However for approximately half the price of a 'real' safari I'll tolerate a bit of fettling to get it absolutely right.

Barely noticeable when driving in terms of vision, however I would second the comment about wind noise- was a definite increase once fitted.

Looking for a solution to seal up all the pipework properly still- I currently have some silicon dong the job but looking for a better solution.

hmmm after a little research, it doesn't look like d44's steel intake adapter would work with the mantec RAI, as the RAI requires the wing edge to clip onto! My 109 thread
