Are dealers automatically installing this new software when your vehicle goes in to them? Mine is going fine so I would not want it touched. I presume that all the software is, is instructions for the ECU. I do not understand how they cannot concentrate on getting a program constructed that will up the fuel consumption. My Puma 110 is in the mid 20's mpg wise. It is at least 4-5 mpg less than the 200 tdi and it has a smaller tank which does impact on it's range between fillups. With a slightly lower weight, more relaxed cruising gear and scientifically adjusted fuel feed you would imagine it would be better than your right foot! Slightly disappointing fuel consumption is my only qualm with an otherwise astounding vehicle. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The dealers were instruced to undertake the Vehicle Enhancement Program some time ago on L319/L320 models. Although this included some hardware changes to things such as the air suspension, it also included powertrain, chassis electronics and drivetrain software updates. I think the VEP was listed under Service Bulletin, and not TSB. So I guess the answer is 'you won't know 'till what was working, no longer does'. |

hi i had the patch uploaded after my second egr, now i have a flat/dead spot upon accelerating, and then at 1800 or so rpm. not good, esp when towing. i am still waiting (3 weeks) for kevin marshall from lr technical to come and have another ride out in it 'its fine sir' last time... i worry what these probs have on the rest of the car as there is a real shunt upon power delivery...
does anyone have a direct line to kevin or the tech dept, my dealer are upon pain of death to not give it to me but i feel like i am being taken for a mug... alex |

The dealer uploaded the patch in our Puma at the second service about two months ago. Have not noticed an down sides and no flat spots. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I had mine upgraded when it went in last month, much smoother, feels stronger in the midrange and a small decrease in fuel consumption. Previously the low fuel light would come on almost religously at 295 miles, I now get over 300 every time.
Can't say this was all down to the patch however as I also had a new EGR, Clutch and gear selector shaft fitted. Mind you it took them three days to get it the electrickery stuff done as the ECU kept rejecting the patch? MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |
