Any transfer/gearbox experts?
OK, I changed my transfer box to 1.2 rather than std 1.4 a while ago and it's great.

I was assured that it was a 'goodun' and so far it's been fine, but I've got no way of knowing how many miles or wether it was worn at all, over the last thousand miles or so I've noticed the gear changes are just a bit sloppy in 1st and 2nd when pulling away.
I was underneath it yesterday to replace a seal on the rear diff, while I was there I checked how much play there was in the handbrake drum (handbrake off) and there was about 3 or 4 'minutes' of free movement (approx 20 degrees) from side to side, is this amount normal?

My worry is that the transfer box I put on was a little worn and it will wear the gearbox main shaft quicker because there is movement, if that makes sense?!!
