Can't help re. the insurance, I'm afraid, but out of interest can I ask how much it cost to get a tacho installed and calibrated, and is it fitted in place of the radio or somewhere else?

Best place for insurance? No idea.
However it might be worthwhile talking to Nick Buckham of D. E. Ford based in York. Brendan |

I was told there are only 3 underwriters that do traders policy's , I would try going to a normal broker and let them do the leg work and let them recommend one , I know there is some Internet based ones , but I prefer to have a broker to ring and speak to and hopefully they should know who are reliable if a problem occurs

Sorry to go off thread but a lot of the FCX Radioboxes that we supply are used to house digital tacho graphs |

They are a great idea although 'technically' don't meet regulations as you can't reach it from the drivers seat also leaves the unit on show and offers no security (a lot cheaper though )

The link below is to a form on the .gov website to do with Tacho's. I'm glad you asked the question as the form has recently been updated & the image that dorsetsmith has posted is now considered to be legal whereas a couple of months ago it wasn't. This is a copy of the Original Doc: Click image to enlarge This has now been superseded with the Doc below: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/syst...cation.pdf As for Price I was quoted just over £1500.00 inc VAT for the unit & fitting. Then you have to purchase the equipment to download & store the data etc. Burt the company that I'm dealing with do all this for a small monthly fee, it just means that I have to visit them once a month to get it done. Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Last edited by Xelr8 on 4th Oct 2014 11:07am. Edited 1 time in total |

Looks like the regs have changed, which is better for you selling these, if you take a look at my link. |
