Tiger - looks like you're doing a great job.
just noticed the amp is fixed to the underside of the mid seat base. don't suppose you've got any pics showing how that's fitted. I was hoping to establish where I might be able to secure some rivnuts without having to take the seat to pieces to find the steel frame. many thanks |

So I upgraded the Headlight loom at the weekend and added a relay.
However rather annoyingly the original loom was better! New loom was 14.1v and original was 14.25v Not a lot but worth sorting, anyway it was basically the earth I took off the side of the radiator brackets wasn't a brilliant earth so I added a new earth point to the chassis at the front and now new loom wins New earth Click image to enlarge Old Loom - 14.21v New Relayed Loom - 14.33v |

Fitted the MUD heated mirrors.
All drill and routed for neatness. They will be connected to the Heated screen loom when I do that. Last edited by Tiger on 29th Sep 2014 9:54pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Right so did some more work on today. (if anybody actually reads this? maybe just me )
So I fit the eBay special headlight loom and wasn't totally happy with it so I decided to do a job lot of lighting wiring. So first thing I did was to make up a mini loom for the OE light switch for the dash. I then ran some heavy cable in tubing from the alternator which I branched into 4 Then butchered the eBay headlight loom and built it into mountable and splash proof relay board and added runs for the front spots and the light bar. Threw the Chinese relays in the bin and replaced with 4 LR items Made a bracket Made the loom up and ran it to the dash through the rubber grommet Ran loom under wing and secured the bracket (now painted swell) Ran wiring for roof through dash and up windscreen pillar, drill hole in the top corner behind the door seal Into roof gutter and sealed Tripple sleeved the external wires Wired up OE switch As I have two independent sets of front spots I wanted two OE looking switches so a while ago I got my hands on a Tomb Raider steering column 2nd light switch, I also wanted a tell tail so added a blue LED. Had to drill out the small hole to 20mm as it branches two halves of the plastic this was the solution (good old Record G cramps and wood ) Connected Lightbar via an AMP waterproof connector and sealed with heat shrink Arrrghh Blind! Then set to work on a rear light, made a mini loom up for the external wires. Drilled the holes and cut some plates to distribute the pressure on the thin ali roof. |
