Trye pressure guages
Looking to get a tyre pressure guage. Is there really any difference between them? When i was a lad we had one of them metal jobbies that are now all over e bay for two quid and seemed to work fine back then!!. Do i really need to spend 15 quid on a dial one or digi one?

Dial ones are pretty good, easy to read (which is good when your eyesights getting crap - it's an age thing!)...and I usually find with digi things the batterys run out just when you want to use them...but they are probably more accurate than the others! 1959 Series 2 Ragtop

I've got a PCL pressure gauge/inflator. Calibrated twice a year, and not cheap at about £50 but it's never let me down during daily use! An engine to TDi for!

I bought a brand new rather expensive PCL 'professional' grade analogue pressure gauge - Made in Sheffield - no batteries or electronics to degrade and thought it would do the business for many years.

It's now sitting in the hall cupboard awaiting what might be a one-way ticket back to Sheffield.

After using it on several vehicles that I own - I'm totally unconvinced as to its accuracy. Currently using a rather cheapo Halfords plastic unit that appears to give more consistent and accurate readings.

I also have a PCL tyre inflator and the integral gauge on that unit appears even less accurate.
