United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Montalcino Red
My 1st Defender.......... 110 XS UW Bowler Edition
Well I've gone & done it...............
'Pulled the Pin' on a 110 XS UW in Montalcino Red..........Bowler Edition Very Happy
Just hope it doesn't blow up in my face Confused lol

I've placed the order with Bowler direct Cool as they've come up with a very good deal and seem to know they're stuff. Nothing seems to be a problem with them either. Much easier to talk to than a 'salesman' at an 'official' dealer.
Hopefully it should be here around November time, fingers crossed.

A bit about me........
I've never had a Land Rover before, parents have had a RR Sport HST with the 3.6 V8 Diesel, never mind a Defender Exclamation
I've had a lot of cars in my time but most of them we're 'Modern' lol
I recently had a concours Ford Escort MKII Mexico, which I had a love / hate relationship with as it seemed to break down at will Rolling Eyes , & I've no doubt that this will be as 'challenging' a vehicle to own in it's own right. I just prey that it's reliable Whistle

I have chosen this Defender as I'm starting a new business venture & this IS the vehicle for the job both literally & legally. More on this at a later date & if admins read this then I'll be looking to become a trader or advertise on here in the near future.

The Spec:
110 XS UW in Montalcino Red with Factory Options of:
    Sunroof
    Upgrade Audio
    Privacy Glass
    Premium Seats

Land Rover Accessories:
Heavy Duty Rubber Mats - Front
Heavy Duty Rubber Mats - Rear
    Xenon Bulbs
    LED Rear Lights
Rear Step Bumper with 13 Pin Electrics & Tow Ball
Rigid Loadspace Protector with Protective Matt
    Work Light

Bowler Upgrades:
    Stage 1 Engine Tune
18" Alloys in Black with 265/65 BF Goodridge AT's
    Front Bumper
    Side Sills
    Motorsport Steering Wheel
    Bespoke Bilstein Handling Kit
    Steering Guard
    Bespoke Gear Selectors
    Optimised Steering Lock
    Bowler Wing & Bonnet Badges
    Rear Window Privacy Tint

I am having a few 'unique' touches done by Bowler but I'm not giving these away until Delivery is in sight Wink

I'll keep my journey updated as much and as frequently as I can.
And of course as soon as I get Pictures they will be posted up here. Mr. Green

Looking forward to the Adventure Very Happy Thumbs Up

Cheers
Leon

Doubt you'd find a better one. It was as clean underneath as it was on top Cool
Nothing really original about it though apart from the reg no. No Rust whatsoever as it was rebuilt using a new shell.

Nice. Very.

It's looks very nice - nope it looks really very very tasty - very surprised to hear it kept breaking down - it's a lot less technically complex than a current model Defender?

If I had a broken down Mexico or a broken down Defender - I know which one I would find easier to get running again. Lot less electro-trickery on the old Ford and I might even argue that the QA was better. If your Mexico had been rebuilt by a half decent mechanic it should run very sweetly? Tell us more about what was wrong with it?

The Mexico looks good, we owned an RS Focus, 226KW & 440NM, a very fast little car.

The main problem was that it was modified when rebuilt by the previous owner.
It was running close to 200 Bhp from a Harris Built 2.1 Pinto. The car just wasn't made to drive at slow speeds, it ran very lumpy, you'd have to be doing 50mph to run it in 4th Gear.
The Alternator had been modified to a toothed belt type & I had loads of problems with it.
The Diff was too noisy for road use & it went through a fair few bearings, Diff Cases, LSD's
I lost all gears apart from 2nd on a Tour, which was fun Big Cry
My Seat back collapsed on the way home from Santa Pod Crying or Very sad
Many other little bits with electrics & so on.
There seemed to be a new problem every time I drove it lol
Better to look at than own Rolling Eyes

Aahh, the RS 500, ....and the wrap!...I reckon Ford would have had a few warranty "nightmares" with that.
