And you thought puma defender clutches failed prematurely
As above really....

The Land Rover award for clutches made of cheese goes to.......

Not a puma defender this time........

The clutch on my girlfriends work hire car, a 64 plate 1.4 Kia venga

which failed at........

340 miles......

Proving to be a right pain getting a replacement car.

The hire company's breakdown line goes through to the RAC. the RAC recovered the car to our house when they eventually turned up last night as the guy didn't know where else to take it and it failed 5 miles from home, and it was 8.15pm. RAC bloke said to ring the hire company in the morning and they'd arrange something

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Rang customer services for the hire company, they said, sorry love nowt to do wi us, ring local depot or the Breakdown line.

Hold he said and I'll put you through to the depot. Ten minutes of green sleeves later and 'hello RAC' is the next thing I hear in my ear. The RAC lady said, sorry can't help you ring customer services or the local depot.

So we rang the local depot, they didn't answer the phone so it diverted back to customer services! They said again nowt to wi us ring the depot or breakdown line. I did Ring the local depot I said but the phone diverted me here.

I eventually got through to the local depot who said, sorry love nowt to do wi us ring the breakdown line. The breakdown line bloke said, sorry love, nowt to do wi us ring the depot or customer services for the hire company.

Give me strength. Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Ahh man that's awful! Surely they should at least send you out a new car??

hope you get it sorted.

That said, having recently had a clutch failure (actually it was the flywheel but never mind) I was speaking to a friend of mine who works for Jaguar- he showed me a picture of a Brand New XK with all its guts out everywhere because the clutch had disintegrated at..........16 miles.

Not a new car but a mate had a Cobra replica car when I lived in Kent. Clutch went so he imported an up specced clutch from the US. Fitted it and 8 yes eight miles later it failed. Unhappy wasn't a word I'd of described him with that day 110 D250 SE HT
