Changed my badge to DEFENDER now that someone finally sells a genuine coloured/sized badge rather than just gloss black or chrome! Very happy with the result:

Spent five hours on my back fitting an X brake on the TD5. Very impressed with the result especially as it does not rattle Thumbs Up

Not today but last week, Pete at BAS worked his magic on the 2.2 90. All I can say is why did I wait so long to have this done - it has transformed the vehicle Thumbs Up

David, I'm surprised with all the mods you've done (and I keep an eye on your Defender thread) that you're still running standard headlights. You like all the LEDs etc but still got the crappy headlights. You planning on an upgrade?

Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

Well I have 120% bulbs in at the moment, and have a relay setup and WIPAC crystals waiting to be installed. Happy with how they are though at the moment. They're not that crappy? Cheers, David

With the LED spots, high beams are great Thumbs Up

Low beams don't really need to be any brighter tbh Cheers, David

David, I tend to agree about your comments.
However, with the Crystal lights (which I have too) you will likely find the output will be more white and clear without the glass distortion.
The LED headlights are no doubt good but the risk of theft due to the high cost is not worthwhile IMO.

Thanks jim bob, lots of hard work in this one, only the engine and box were left intact, it's like new underneath and most other places!! I like the chequer lid, nice and secure with the swinging tailgate, and the bonnet balances it...! Series doors are fun, although I must build the tops up, off to pick up a truck cab for it next week, although it is nice and warm with the working heater and re trimmed heated seats, and no condensation from the canvas!!...

Cheers. Alex

Finally found the source of the odd vibration that was driving me nuts.....I replaced both front a rear propshafts which improved things ,run it with no rear no vib rear on still vib.....checked fluids etc then discoverd that the two screws that hold the hand brake drum on where lose....tight end up no vib.......... Rolling with laughter
Still needed two new shafts anyway ....

Fitted a New 12N socket yesterday and fitted stainless fixings, made a new bracket from scratch and sealed it today.
Just need a bit of Dinitrol in black to blend it it. No more rust! Mr. Green And more importantly cured my issues with an extra earth too.
Just the sort of job I like to do!
Will add a photo later
